Having come from a humble background, he figured he needed to reexamine his priorities and find any other job that would put food on his table.

That was how he accepted a security guard job in Qatar, his eyes set on changing his mother's fortune.

Lucas told a trusted Kenyan news outlet, TUKO.co.ke, that he has been living meekly and saving a bigger percentage of his salary for the project.

After one and a half years in the Gulf, he saved enough to build a new house for his widowed mother.

"My sister and I sacrificed everything to change our mother's life," he said proudly, adding that he was not in a hurry to build his.

Glad to transform mother's life

Lucas explained that it bothered them to see their mother live in the house, which had deteriorated over time.

They, therefore, took it upon themselves to give the mother a comfortable and secure home they would be proud of.

Lucas admits the task seemed insurmountable initially, but their determination and dedication fueled the dream.

The diligent guard says the neighbours and community members who initially looked down upon them now watch with admiration.

Lady gifts her parents posh mansion

In a related report, a lady had moved her parents into a posh mansion she had built for them.

Sugar said her parents had spent their lives working and sacrificing for the family hence the befitting gift.
