Punch reported that Kola was involved in the crash on Sunday, March 1, while embarking on what he tagged as his first solo motorcycle trip outside Lagos.

Friends later revealed on Facebook that he had been involved in the accident and was initially rushed to the emergency unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps at 7UP, Ojota and was subsequently transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, where well-wishers continued to pray for his recovery on social media.

Kola reportedly succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Monday, March 2, though this claim has been disputed by some of his friends, who insisted that he died on the spot on Sunday.

Kola’s friend shares what happened after crash

As people mourned Kola, a lady had shared what she did immediately she heard of his accident.

She said she called his private line and a road safety official picked up the call to give her information about the crash.

Her Facebook post read:

“Some of you people on this Facebook should take things easy on how u announce someone demisè. Some of us here have panic attack.
“I slept very early last night and woke at the middle of the night to ease my self, I don’t know who asked me to open my Facebook. Immediately i opens my Facebook I saw post that Kola Onifoto was dèad, immediately my Heart started beàting fast, I had to rush to the toilet again, headache came at once, I was shivering.

“The guy and I are friends on my other acct and we chat there even on WhatsApp. I called his direct number and a road safety Officer picked and said he had a fatàl accident but wasn’t dèàd. That was when I relaxed.
“Since that last night till now I have not rested. I rushed out this morning and did some Waybil then came back home to sleep small but I can’t because I have panic attàck
“Do you people think about their family members before posting such? For Gods sake you all should just stop this!!!!
“It’s going to take me days to get out from this mood and I need medical attention before I can sleep.”
