Why Tyler Robinson reportedly surrendered to police
According to a report shared online by 7NewsAustralia, Robinson turned himself in because he feared being shot by police.
The Washington County Sheriff disclosed that Robinson handed himself in accompanied by his parents the day after the shooting.
His peaceful surrender was done to prevent a standoff with a SWAT team at either his family's residence or apartment.
Robinson faces severe charges in connection with Kirk's death, including aggravated murder and discharging a firearm.
The Washington County Sheriff's office confirmed Robinson's surrender and subsequent charges.
