A Nigerian man was left devastated after he accidentally sent a huge sum of money to the wrong account.

He had mistakenly transferred N100,000 to an incorrect account allegedly belonging to a certain Mr. Obinna Divine Favour Okoronko.

Man laments after sending N100k to wrong account

The man, identified as @abdullahayofel on X, said he reached out to the recipient and requested that he return the money.

However, despite his efforts, the recipient allegedly refused to refund the amount.

According to @abdullahayofel, he even offered to let the recipient keep N50,000 of the money, but still received no positive response.

In a heartfelt plea, @abdullahayofel shared his ordeal on social media, hoping that someone would come to his aid.

He explained that the money was meant for a business project and that losing it would be a great setback.

The man had been working on a house wiring project in Oyo with his team and had intended to use the money to purchase materials.

"I just mistakenly sent money to the wrong @OPay_NG account belonging to one Mr. Obinna Divine Favour Okoronko (08038101401). I called him, he confirmed receiving the money but refused to refund and switched off his phone. JaizBankNG says retrieval isn’t certain without his consent which he clearly won’t give. Please, who can help me? And @OPay_NG can you please block this account. I even reason the guy make he collect 50k from the money, but he still refuse.

Nigerians stormed the comments section to send out advice to the heartbroken man.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a Nigerian man who wanted to fund his sports betting account lamented sending the money to someone else's instead.

He displayed proof of the N100k erroneous transaction and appealed to the receiver to do a refund.
