Everything Wanted to Discourage Me, but I Went to School and Graduated: Physically Challenged Man Narrates
- A Nigerian man, Olajide Mayowa Kehinde, said he had to prepare for the rigours of the higher institution as a physically challenged man
- To make sure he is fully prepared before his admission came, he built his mental strength within the walls of the gym

A physically challenged young man, Olajide Mayowa Kehinde, said that in 2013 when he was processing his admission, a friend wondered how he would be able to cope with the stress in school.
The friend asked him how he would survive in the case of a crisis and people are running around. He advised him to divert his education fund into a business.

He encouraged himself
Rather than let the words dampen him, he hit the gym to keep fit. He also armed himself with computer knowledge to gain social confidence.

Instead of taking transport to his computer centre, he started wheeling himself to and fro as a way to build physical strength.
He overcame other challenges
Despite the challenges he faced in school, the man graduated from university. When he was posted to a security porous state, Kano, for his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), he went regardless and served.
Out of school and no job, the man became a graphics designer as a way to survive. He said:
“I hope this will encourage someone most especially people like me that are physically challenged, never give up on your dreams no matter how. If you can dream it, then you can achieve.”
Other challenges after school
Speaking with Legit.ng on how life has been treating him since graduation, he said:
"It has not been easy for me at all. But I keep moving with the hope that one day God will bless my hustle."
Olajide who graduated with upper credit in school added that he does most of his graphics from his room as he does not have an office yet.

My parents abandoned me
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Martin B Annor, a young man in Ghana, who was born with a physical disability, was rejected by both his mother and father because taking care of him was a burden to them.
Speaking in an interview with Portia Gabor on TV3, Martin asked God three questions that have stirred the emotions of viewers.
He said:
"I want to ask God why he created me like this. Secondly, I want to know why he decided to deprive me of the love of my parents. Also, I want to know why everything in life has been so difficult for me."
