Nigeria Customs Announces Film Acting Recruitment, Application Link and Other Details Emerge

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially announced the commencement of recruitment for film acting roles in its much-anticipated 79 Television Series, with production scheduled to begin in October 2025.

According to the Service, the recruitment drive aims to showcase the creative talents of officers while bringing to life compelling stories of crime, thriller, and drama.

NCS calls for audition for talented officers

In a statement via X, NCS explained that the audition is open to its officers who have a flair for acting.

“We are inviting talented officers with acting potential to audition for roles in the 79 Television Series,” the statement read.

The Service stressed that officers interested in participating must strictly follow the submission guidelines.

NCS releases submission guidelines

The guidelines, as shared by NCS stipulate that audition monologues must be submitted in MP4 format and must not exceed 125MB.

Participants are required to appear in uniform attire, clearly state their name and command at the beginning of their video, and perform the monologue script provided on the application page.

“We expect professionalism, creativity, and authenticity in every audition,” the NCS added.

The audition window opened on 13 September 2025 and will close on Monday, October 6, giving interested officers just over three weeks to finalise their submissions.

Customs' site crashes before pretest

NCS once again found itself under public scrutiny after its recruitment portal crashed just minutes before the scheduled pretest exercise, leaving thousands of applicants stranded.

Recall that the NCS recently announced a new recruitment exercise to fill vacancies across three cadres: Superintendent, Inspectorate and Customs Assistant.

According to the Service, the process is aimed at strengthening its workforce and addressing operational gaps.

However, applicants were unable to access the online pretest link as the portal returned repeated “Internal Server Error” messages.

2025 recruitment: NCS updates applicants on CBT exercise

Previously, Legit.ng reported that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reassured all successful applicants in its ongoing recruitment exercise that details of the forthcoming Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be communicated directly to shortlisted candidates.

Customs updated applicants via a statement on Thursday, September 18. It will be remembered that the NCS, last Wednesday, 10 September, announced 286,697 applicants have been shortlisted to take the second stage of its recruitment exercise.

In a signed press release by the National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS revealed the next step to be a CBT to be conducted 14–21 September 2025. The Service indicated the test would be administered online as part of its "commitment to transparency, accessibility, and fairness."
