FCT, Abuja - The senior pastor at Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja, Paul Enenche, said Loan App companies are in covenant with the spirit of death.

The Nigerian pastor said many people are on the brink of taking their own lives after taking loans from the online banking app.

The Abuja-based pastor stated this during a Sunday service in his in the FCT, nation’s capital.

In a video shared by Churhgist via its X handle @therealchurchg1, Pastor Enenche said the Loan App companies literally beg people to get the loan and later frustrate them into killing themselves.

“I believe that those Loan App people are in covenant with the spirit of death. Yes, I say that without apology becase many people have literally committed s@icide and many are on the brink of s@icide.
“They beg people to get the loan, they plead with people, they appear on people’s screens. They are very good; they are planning to help you.
“They don’t want you to embarrassed, they don’t want you to be under financial pressure. Not knowing that the master of all pressure is the pressure from them.
“By the time people succumb and pick that loan, that is when you realise that devils exist. They harass the hell out of your life. I don’t know the time they have. I don’t know if it’s automate phone call or text message system. We are going to deal with you.

“Infact, I hear that sometimes, they publish peoples obituary. They send message to your contacts. We are going to publish your details online; we are going to let the world know you are a criminal they should never deal with you.

They started blackmailing me by sending g my bvn details to my contacts tagging me a criminal and I mean just because of 1 day overdo.

Loan apps face N100m fine under new regulations

Recall that the FCCPC introduced new regulations to protect Nigerians from harassment and exploitative practices by digital lenders.

The new regulations will ensure fair interest rates, ethical debt collection, and honest advertising, with penalties for violators.

The commission has urged consumers to report unregistered or abusive lenders through its complaint portal.

Lawyer shares steps to report loan apps

In a similar story, Legit.ng reported that a legal practitioner offered a solution on how Nigerians can deal with harassment from loan apps.

This came after a netizen complained that a loan app falsely sent a message to all his contacts, lying that he stole company money.

Speaking with Legit.ng, Barrister Ebimnamaonye Chidera Divine, a barrister and the founder of Pure Legal Solicitors, shared a step aggrieved debtors could take against harassment.
