Abdullahi Bashir Haske: EFCC allegedly probing NNPC boss
Earlier in August, The Cable reported that Bayo Ojulari, the chairman of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited, had come under investigation for transferring millions of dollars to the AA&R Investment Group account.
The company was said to be dealing with energy, agricultural business, logistics, and information and communication technology. Bashir-Haske was reported to be the founder and group managing director of the company. He is married to the daughter of the former vice president.
Atiku, who contested against President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 election under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), remained a presidential hopeful of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), where he may contest against Tinubu in the 2027 poll.
The report cited sources that the presidency considered NNPC under Ojulari doing business with Bashir-Haske as a way of funding Atiku's campaign against President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.
