Breaking: IGP Finally Takes Action on KWAM 1 vs ValueJet Officials

Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has issued a directive to the Lagos Airport Police Command to commence an investigation into the alleged assault involving the popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1 and ValueJet officials.

The incident, which happened last week at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, has started generating reactions from concerned Nigerians.

The police authority confirmed the receipt of the official petition written by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over the incident. DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force's public relations officer, in a statement on Tuesday, August 12, confirmed that the incident was reported by the NCAA on August 5, 2025.

Police then assured the public that the force is committed to upholding the safety and security within the aviation sector in Nigeria. The force assured stakeholders in the sector of improved collaboration for security and strict compliance with the aviation rules
