Tunde Moshood, the special adviser on media and communications to the minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, confirmed the development in a post shared on his X page on Monday, August 11, 2025.

Moshood tweeted:

“The more reason the flying public should be more careful, the unruly passenger on the Uyo–Lagos bound Ibom Air, Miss Comfort Emmanson, has been charged to court and she’s now cooling off in Kirikiri.”

NCAA reacts to Air Ibom incident

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Michael Achimugu, director of consumer affairs at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has asked passengers to always follow "simple routine issues".

Achimugu's advice comes after Comfort Emmanson, the passenger on an Ibom Air flight, caused a scene at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday, August 10, assaulting an air hostess and confronting airport officials.

In one of the clips seen by Legit.ng, the lady was seen throwing tantrums at officials who tried to calm her down.

She was also captured physically abusing an air hostess, with a witness at the scene claiming she had slapped the crew member.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a Nigerian lawyer has shared how an Ibom Air passenger who slapped an air hostess, Comfort Emmanson, could win if she sued the airline.

An unexpected drama unfolded as an Ibom Air passenger was filmed slapping an air hostess on the plane.

A Nigerian lawyer on X, @RickAnji who analysed the situation mentioned how Comfort can get millions if she sued the airline. mentioned that the lady could sue for breach of contact of carriage, assault and battery, and defamation and privacy violation.

Kwam 1 dragged following Air Ibom saga

Legit.ng reports that the incident comes a few days after Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly called Kwam 1, had an altercation with some employees of ValueJet Airlines at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Paul Ibe, media adviser to former vice president Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, August 11, queried when Wasiu Ayinde, the popular Fuji musician, will be arraigned in court for his controversial behaviour at Lagos airport, recently.

Ibe's challenge comes as a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, was banned for life by Ibom Air for being "unruly". The sanction was pronounced after a row at the MMIA.
