Mohbad: Singer’s Dad Reacts to Naira Marley’s Clip, Confirms Son Received Money, “He Isn’t Innocent”

Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Imole Aloba, has broken his silence about the video made by his son’s former record label boss, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley.

The singer had posted a video to address the allegations against him, claiming that Mohbad was receiving money from another account. He also stated that he never bullied Mohbad and had no part in his death.

A few hours after the video was shared online, an old interview Mohbad had granted with Naira Marley also resurfaced, supporting some of Naira Marley's claims while disputing others.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Aloba stated that Naira Marley was lying about his son.

He explained that his son had suffered harassment at the hands of Naira Marley and that he had to go see him about some of the issues Mohbad had complained about.

Aloba also mentioned that he personally witnessed some of the incidents and that others, who were privy to what Naira Marley did to his son, came to report to him about Marley's behavior.

In his words:

“I went to see Naira Marley over some of the things Mohbad had said, and that was all. But later, I personally witnessed other incidents. There were about three people present at the time—two are still alive today. One of them, who worked with Naira Marley, once came to report to me that Marley was beating Mohbad."

“When we went to see him to apologize, he wasn’t even speaking respectfully. People think I went there to collect money, but life is much more than what I want to eat.”

Aloba speaks on son’s finances

When asked about the truth of Mohbad receiving money through another account other than his own, Aloba confirmed it.

According to him, Naira Marley had reported to him and acknowledged that he had received money from Mohbad through strange accounts. Aloba also mentioned that he had warned his son about it.

Recall that Mohbad's father been in the forefront of seeking justice for his son.

Wunmi asks for court papers over DNA

Legit.ng had reported that late Mohbad's wife, Wunmi, had cried out for help on social media over her safety and that of her son.

The mother of one shared some of the threats she and her son had gotten. She begged Nigerians to tell her father-in-law to bring court papers if he needed a DNA test.
