Don’t Let Distance Be a Barrier, Consider Northern Orphans When Disbursing Your N250m: Group Urges Davido
- A northern Nigeria-based support group for orphans has advised Davido to extend his hands of goodwill to the region
- The chairman of the association, Mr Salisu Waziri Ibrahim, said a portion of the sum will go a long way in assisting northern Nigerian orphans

A Support Group for Nigerian Orphans (SGNO) based in Taraba state has urged music superstar, Davido to consider the plight of northern orphans when disbursing the N250 million he donated for orphanage homes across the country.
The Leadership Newspaper reports that SGNO chairman, Mr Salisu Waziri Ibrahim, during his brief with newsmen in Jalingo, said it would be commendable if the singer could allocate a few thousand for northern Nigerian-based orphans.

The chairman said he feels it is imperative to remind Davido about the orphans in the north because he might not remember due to proximity.
Speaking up for northern orphans
Salisu also expressed his appreciation to the singer for considering the orphans in his project and urged him not to let distance be a barrier whenever he wants to assist the needy.

According to him:
“Davido was born far from the north, he hardly visits this part of the country and he may not be in touch with some realities we have here even though we are all Nigerian.
"We have numerous orphans in this part of the country that cannot raise their voices unless for some of us the NGOs that have been speaking for them."
He also feels it is imperative to call Davido's attention to the pressing needs of northern orphans.
“Some of them are at Taraba Motel, the state government kept them for a long period of time, some are in Gasol local government area, the singer may not know if his attention is not drawn to the plight of those he intends to help here in this part of Nigeria."
He finally prayed for Davido and commended his kind gesture.
Davido vows to personally ensure his N250m donation is not diverted
Legit.ng earlier reported that a fan shared her concerns about how officers at orphanage homes divert funds and prevent them from getting to the children in need.
Her concerns came after music star Davido announced that he will be donating the sum of N250 million to orphanage homes across the country.
Davido commented under her post that he will personally monitor and ensure the funds are not diverted.
