Media personality Shade Ladipo has publicly apologised to Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage over comments she made back in 2021 when the singer’s private video surfaced online.

At the time, Ladipo was among those who openly criticised the singer, blaming her for the scandal. But in a recent heartfelt video on Instagram, she revealed she has since realised how unfair and misplaced her judgment was.

She confessed;

“I was one of the people who blasted Tiwa Savage when that s3x tape came out. I’ll be honest. I blamed her."

Shade explained that her reaction then came from a place of misplaced morality.

She said she had wondered why a woman over 40, who also happens to be her peer, would put herself in such a vulnerable position.

She added, admitting her perspective has since changed:

“In hindsight, I wonder why I was blaming her so hard for something that happened to her."

Legit.ng recalled that Tiwa, in an interview with UK media personality Zeze Mills, revisited the scandal.

She described the period as the lowest point in her career.
