Guyanese Influencer, Lola Doll, Lands in Hospital Following Gunman Attack

Popular Guyanese social media influencer, Lo-lita Callender, better known as Lola Doll, has found herself in a devastating condition after being shot multiple times outside her home in Georgetown on Saturday night.

The tragic event was made public in a statement released on Sunday, September 7, on social media by the Guyana Police Force.

The 33-year-old was said to have been attacked at about 11:35 p.m. local time in front of her house at Texas Square, East Ruimveldt.

Part of the statement read:

“She is presently receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remains in critical condition, having sustained gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands, and right leg.”

Speaking on the nature of the attack, the police revealed that Lola Doll was seated in her car when a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire.

“Preliminary information indicates that the victim was seated in her motor car when she was shot by a male on a motorcycle,” the GPF added.

The authorities further disclosed that efforts are being made to track down the shooter.

“Police ranks are actively pursuing the suspect, and CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as part of the investigation,” the release noted.

While working to uncover the perpetrator of this inhumane act, the police called on people with useful information regarding the incident to come forward.

They stated:

“The Guyana Police Force is urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. Persons can also share information anonymously by calling 911 or the nearest police station. Investigations remain ongoing.”
