Obi Cubana: Davido Shares Solidarity Post for Wealthy Socialite Following EFCC Arrest Over Money Laundering

• The music star who is currently out of the country shared Cubana’s photo on his Instastory channel with a short caption praising him
• Davido’s post comes several hours after news of the businessman’s arrest by officials of the EFCC became public

Singer David Adeleke aka Davido is a strong ally of the popular Cubana ‘brothers’ and he has shown support for Obi Iyiegbu aka Obi Cubana, who was recently picked up by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The music star took to his Instastory channel with a photo of the nightlife entrepreneur and accompanied it with a short caption praising him.

Davido also made sure to tag the official handle of the businessman.

Earlier on, Legit.ng reported that Cubana arrived at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Monday, November 1, to answer questions bordering on alleged money laundering.

A source who spoke to The Punch on the matter was quoted to have said:

“Obi Cubana was arrested and brought to the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by detectives as we speak.”

Nigerians react to Cubana's arrest

Meanwhile, several Nigerians have also taken to social media with different things to say following Cubana's arrest.

One individual identified as Christian Bekwele World bared his mind on the issue and had this to say:

"I said it. When I heard of Obi Cubana I told my wife that he has made a very big mistake. Nigeria Government led by Buhari doesn't like good things and they dislike to hear that the youths are doing well. I told my wife that before December he will be invited for questioning/Arrest."

Better EFCC than FBI - Activist Deji Adeyanju on Cubana's arrest

Still in a related story, Legit.ng reported that popular activist Deji Adeyanju disclosed that he warned Obi Cubana to be careful in the past but people thought he was jealous of him.

Adeyanju further disclosed that Obi Cubana's case is not serious for now, but it could get worse.

In his words:

"When I told Obi Cubana to be careful, some people said I was jealous of him. It's still much better to be arrested by the EFCC than the FBI. He should be celebrating that it's EFCC. Calm down Obi. It's not serious for now but it could get worse."
