Love Conquers All in Telemundo TV Series, The Scent of Passion

Earlier this month the home of Africa’s favourite telenovelas, Telemundo, brought us its new series, The Scent of Passion (Café Con Aroma de Mujer), featuring Laura Londoño as Gaviota and William Levy as Sebastian. The show has gripped Nigerians with its fascinating storyline and plot twists, following the story of a coffee farmer, Gaviota, who meets and falls in love with Sebastian, the son of the wealthy coffee farm owner, Octavio.
Although a series about romance, The Scent of Passion explores a range of themes including family, heartbreak, betrayal and greed. Central to the story’s plot is the portrayal of how two individuals from different worlds, Gaviota and Sebastian, find commonalities in their ideologies and dreams. The plot narrates how the main characters fall in love and overcome all of the difficulties placed in their way in search of a happier life together.
Through the love that Sebastian and Gaviota have for one another, The Scent of Passion takes a broad look at how society, family and friends influence relationships — whether for better or for worse - due to their self-interest and ulterior motives.
The new show was launched in Nigeria with an exclusive press event in Lagos, where Passionistas and other guests interacted virtually with actress Laura Londoño and executive producer Yalile Giordanelli, hosted by Tallulah Doherty Adetona.
Speaking at the event, Laura Londoño shared that The Scent of Passion is a story about passion and all kinds of love. “There is the romantic love between a man and a woman, there is also love for mother as well as one’s motherland. This is a universal love that we all feel wherever we are from.” The event also ensured that guests experienced The Scent of Passion on a personal level. The drama is set on a coffee farm in Colombia, as such, guests were treated to delightful local Nigerian coffee on offer. “Thank you for being here with us, watching The Scent of Passion and following my career. Keep watching the beautiful show because it will make you feel all kinds of love and passion which is amazing,” Laura concluded.
Telemundo delights and captivates its fans with gripping telenovelas and The Scent of Passion is no different. The series airs on Telemundo on DStv channel 118 at 9 p.m. WAT.
