Algeria 2025: Nigeria Shines at 1st African School Games as NTIC Wins 7 Medals

Abuja, FCT - Nigeria has shown its dominance in sports again as students of Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) won big at the just concluded 1st African School Games held in Algeria.
Legit.ng gathers that the school games kicked off on July 26th - August 5th, 2025, featuring over 3,000 young athletes across the continent competing in 25 sports disciplines.

Nigerian athletes participated in 10 various sports, winning a total of 25 medals, comprising six gold, 10 silver, and nine bronze medals. NTIC students contributed four gold, two silver and one bronze to the country's medal haul.
While NTIC's Miracle Ezechukwu won two gold medals in the 200m and medley relay team, and a silver in the 100m, Rosemary Nwakwo won two gold medals in the 100m and medley relay as well as a silver in the 200m. Similarly, Unique Umeh completed the NTIC students' task with a bronze medal in the taekwondo event.
NTIC hails students
Meanwhile, the management of the NTIC has commended the performance of its students at the just concluded 1st African School Games.
Speaking on the victorious outing, the managing director of NTIC, Dr. Fevzullah Bilgin, commended the students' exemplary performance, adding that they brought honour to their fatherland.
He noted that they are under the sport scholarship programme, a 100% scholarship with academic and sports-wise.
NTIC is covering their academic side and N-Youth Sports Academy covers their sports wise. They have been under the Bilançonun education and sports wise activities.They were selected at the National Youth Games," he said.
Legit.ng notes that the 1st African School Games was a grand celebration of youth, talent, and continental unity. Nigeria placed 4th on the medals log behind host nation, Algeria, followed by Egypt and Tunisia.
Team Nigeria competed in 10 disciplines, including athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, canoeing, football, swimming, table tennis, cycling and taekwondo.

Nigerian teenagers emerge victorious at global competition
In another report, three young talents from Yobe State, Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu (17), Rukayya Muhammad Fema (15), and Hadiza Kashim Kalli, took top honours at the 2025 TeenEagle Global finals in London, United Kingdom, winning the title of World Champion in English language communication and debate.
The trio of winners hail from Yobe state and are students at Nigerian Tulip International College (NTIC), a Turkish school in Mamudo, within the Potiskum local government area of Yobe. The international competition assessed participants' receptive skills (reading and listening) alongside productive skills (writing and speaking).

In standout performances, Nafisa clinched the top spot for English language skills, Rukayya topped the charts in debate, and Hadiza received the Outstanding Talent Award with a Gold Medal.
