Baby factory uncovered in Akwa Ibom state

A baby factory was yet again uncovered by the police in Akwa Ibom state. Seven pregnant ladies were arrested at the baby factory located at at NEPA line in Ikot-Ekpene Local Government Area of the state.

Mr. Etim Dickson, the state Police Public Relations Officer on behalf of the commissioner of police, Umar Gwadabe, said the baby factory was busted following a tip-off that two women, Ima Thompson Akpan and Mma Nurse, were operating a baby factory where seven expectant mothers were camped.

 

These two operators are now at large as they escaped arrest. During interrogation, the pregnant women confessed going into the business because of the money involved.

 

They revealed that a male child is sold for N450,000 while a female child is sold for N350,000.

It was learnt that one of the suspects gave birth to a baby boy at the police station yesterday.
