The Can't Tell Me Nothing rapper, while receiving the MTV VMA's Video Vanguard Award in August, had announced his plan to run for the President of the United States in 2020.

According to ABC News the rapper’s presidential bid came across as ‘strange’ to Barack Obama.

The current US president on October 10 at a fundraiser in San Francisco told the attendees: "Kanye is thinking about running... for Speaker of the House! It couldn’t get any stranger. But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing –- or as he calls it, 'Peezy' –- I do have some advice for him."

Obama urged the rapper to get prepared for the real world out there which requires him dealing with some strange characters who act like they are on a reality TV show.

“You gotta be cool with that,” Obama said. "Second important tip: Saying you have a beautiful dark twisted fantasy -- that's what's known as off message in politics. People have lost congressional seats that way.

"And number three: Do you really think this country's going to elect a black guy from the South Side of Chicago with a funny name to be president of the U.S.? That’s crazy. Cray."

Kanye performed at the fundraiser. Later, his wife, Kim Kardashian posted on Instagram a photo of boxes of Kanye-designed sneakers, Yeezy Boost 350, which had the name of the president on them.

The shoes were apparently Kanye's gift to Obama.

She also posted a photo of Obama and Kanye's signatures side by side. Underneath Obama's was 44, signifying his position in the list of American presidents, while by Kanye's was 46, emphasizing his 2020 plan.
