FG announces public holidays for Eid-el-Kabir celebrations on October 15-16.

The Federal Government declared October 15 and October 16 as public holidays to commemorate Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

Mr. Abba Moro, the Minister of Interior, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement in Abuja on October 10, 2013, Thursday.

The statement, signed by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mrs. Fatima Bamidele, urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the peace and unity of the nation.

The statement contained the minister’s congratulations to the Muslims on the occasion, and urged them and other Nigerians to support President Goodluck Jonathan in his sustained efforts to raise the country to its next level of development.

The Minister wished Nigerians a rewarding and peaceful celebration.
