Five days ago Muhammadu Buhari listed 5 criteria needed for the new Senate President. According to them, the ideal person to fill this position is Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan from Nigeria’s northeast state of Yobe, adopted by the APC as the major candidate for the Senate Presidency.

In Buhari’s opinion, a person to fill vacancy of the Senate president shouldn’t be embroiled in any of major corruption scandals.
