NEMA Helps Out Katsina Flood Victims

The National Emergency Manage-ment Agency (NEMA) has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to victims of flood in Katsina State.

Flood recently wrecked havoc in five local government areas of Kankia, Charanchi, Mashi, Daura and Zango. The disaster rendered dozens homeless, killed scores of domestic animals and destroyed crops worth millions of naira, We have gathered.

Presenting the materials to Katsina State government, NEMA Director-General, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi, said the flood was caused by collapse of the Kankia dam.

Represented by the agency’s north-west coordinator, Alhaji Musa Illallah, Sidi called on the people to avoid erecting structures on waterways.
