Ballot Box Snatchers Car Chase Kills Three
At least three persons were killed and scores injured in a ghastly motor accident in Imo State, Saturday as elections were going on across the state.
The incident which according to the Nation happened at Okwele in Onuimo Council Area of the State, occurred when a take-off bus conveying hoodlums who were snatching ballot boxes in the area, somersaulted while trying to escape from Soldiers who gave them a hot chase.
According to a source, “on sighting the Army vehicle, the hoodlums accelerated their speed, while the Army vehicle, apparently suspecting a foul play, gave them a hot chase. Suddenly we heard a loud sound and the bus somersaulted severally”.

Efforts to confirm the incident were not successful as the Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Andrew Enwerem, could not be reached on his cell phone.
An Army source who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incidence saying the Soldiers on election duty were chasing the thugs when the accident occurred.
Meanwhile in Delta State,three gunmen attacked a polling unit in the state and made way with ballot boxes while harassing a policewoman.
