Rail Track Vandalism: Police Arrest 5 Suspects in Kaduna, Video, Photos Emerge

- Criminals who vandalised and carted away with railway sleepers have been nabbed by the police in Kaduna

- The police command in the state informed newsmen that the suspects were about five in number

- Also, the command noted that the vandals were apprehended in the Jema’a LGA of Kaduna

The police command in Kaduna state on Saturday, May 15, nabbed some saboteurs of the federal government.

Mohammed Jalige, the spokesperson of the command, disclosed that the officers recovered two truckloads of locomotive railway sleepers from the suspects in Dalle Village of Jema’a local government area.

Jalige told journalists that officers worked on available, reliable intelligence to track down and arrest the suspects, The Cable and TVC News report.

He further revealed that while efforts are ongoing to get hold of everyone involved in this crime, the suspects are currently undergoing serious interrogation.

The command's mouthpiece clarified that the online viral video and pictures of some vandalised lines are not linked to the Abuja–Kaduna rail track.

His words:

“However, information available to the Command has it that the video and the pictures in circulation emanated from Enugu State where NSCDC Operatives of Enugu Command apprehended and equally paraded some rail track vandals. Hence, it shouldn’t be attributed to Kaduna – Abuja Rail track"

Earlier, a presidential media aide, Lauretta Onochie, had drawn the attention of Nigerians to the evil works of some saboteurs of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.

In a video she shared via her Twitter page on Thursday, May 13, Onochie reported that some vandals had destroyed the recently constructed rail lines linking Abuja - Kaduna and Itakpe - Warri.

The media aide to the president, who noted that this was a heart-breaking development, claimed it was done by detractors of the Buhari-led government.

She stated that while the federal government is striving to better the lives of Nigerians, some evil fellows are bent on rubbishing its laudable efforts.
