It is indeed a trying time for prolific Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, who has had to bury her mother, Grace Ifeoma Adichie, just a few months after the death of her father.
The Purple Hibiscus author’s mother was buried in her hometown in Anambra state on Saturday, May 1st.
Adichie and her siblings donned white outfits and had flower bouquets at hand in pictures and videos from the funeral which have now surfaced in the online community.
One of the videos sighted captured Adichie resting her head on her husband, Ivara Ezege, who was also around to bid the last farewell to his mother-in-law.
A picture showing the family members of the deceased listening to a sermon in church was also seen on Instagram.
One group photograph captured the writer seated in the middle of family members who flanked her on both sides.

Some days ago, Legit.ng reported that the writer in an Instagram post said that the death of her mum broke her heart twice.
According to Adichie, the family was planning a ceremony to mark the end of mourning her father when her mum passed on.
The writer noted that she is in disbelief that the family is planning another funeral.
