Breaking: University of Ibadan releases 2020/2021 post-UTME results

The University of Ibadan (UI) has released results of its post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) screening exercise for candidates who chose the institution.

Legit.ng reports that this was contained in a statement by the institution’s director of public communications, Olatunji Oladejo, in Ibadan on Saturday, April 17.

Oladejo stated that the institution's registrar, Olubunmi Faluyi, announced the release of the results via the university’s official bulletin No. 4372 of Saturday, 17 April 2021.

She said that candidates were advised to check the admission portal for the results.

According to him, the computer-based screening exercise took place from Tuesday, April 6 to Saturday, April 10.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that amid the second wave of COVID-19 scare, the University of Ibadan said that it would hold the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic session virtually.

It was reported that the premium university would kick off the new session on February 20.

The school released its approved academic calendar for the 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 academic sessions on Friday, January 15.

According to the report, in the approved academic calendar, the school would hold the first semester of the 2020/2021 academic session virtually for 13 weeks of rigorous academic activities.

The Senate, in the approved calendar, noted the prevailing circumstances occasioned by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to comply with the protocols established for the control of the spread of the pandemic.

In a related report, the University of Ibadan, alongside five other Nigerian institutions made it to Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021.

The universities were ranked based on the institution’s performance in teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook.

Among the highest-ranked of the six Nigerian universities is the University of Ibadan which was ranked within the 401-500th bracket.

The Lagos State University and the University of Lagos came in second (501–600th) and third (601–800th) place respectively.

The ranking showed that UI and UNN scored 1% in international students' enrolment, while OAU scored 33.3% in the category of international outlook.
