Abducted students: El-Rufai Defiant, says he Would not be Blackmailed

- Kaduna state government has insisted that ransom would not be paid over kidnapped school students

Efforts are ongoing to rescue kidnapped students abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization according to Kaduna state government.

Meanwhile, Governor El rufai says he will not succumb to emotional blackmail regarding the fate of the abducted students, The Cable added.

Recall that parents of the students raised an alarm that the bandits are threatening to kill their children held hostage.

The students were abducted in March when the bandits attacked the college located in Igabi LGA.

The governor's position was disclosed in a statement issued by Samuel Aruwan, Kaduna commissioner for internal security and home affairs.

He said.

“The governor will continue to work hard until banditry is contained, without succumbing to emotional blackmail and gradual politicization of the unfortunate situation,” he said.
“For instance, some sections of the media have been reporting the parents’ responses to purported threats by the Governor to prosecute them, which is simply false and deeply mischievous.
“The statement of the government warning impostors who have been presenting themselves as government-appointed emissaries to negotiate with bandits across the State has nothing to do with the parents or relatives of the abducted students or any other person in captivity.
“Finally, the State Government will not join issues with the parents whose pain we understand and with whom we share the common goal of the return of all the abducted students.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that during Pastor Enoch Adeboye's meeting with Nasir El-Rufai on Tuesday, April 13, he disclosed some personal facts about the Kaduna governor.

Adeboye's visit to the state's Government House came on the heels of the release of abducted members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

In the visit, the famous cleric revealed that he has known the governor for a long time, adding that the latter is a kindhearted individual.
