2023: PDP has the commitment, confidence to save Nigeria, Wike declares

- Governor Nyesom Wike has expressed confidence in the ability of PDP to rescue Nigeria

- Wike is also of the opinion that the nation and Rivers state has witnessed what the party can do

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has claimed that Nigeria's number one opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has the confidence and zeal to save the country, Channels TV reports.

The outspoken governor made the disclosure on Monday, March 8, during the commissioning of a road project in Emohua LGA of the state.

According to him, PDP is a party both Nigeria and Rivers have seen, adding that what has other political parties done for the state.

Wike speaking further said political elites must be held accountable for their actions and promises made during the electioneering period.

Legit.ng recalls that Wike claimed that Nigerians are earnestly waiting for the PDP to take over power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023 "to enshrine good governance."

A statement signed by Kelvin Ebiri, Wike's media aide, on Wednesday, January 6, indicates that the Rivers state governor made the assertion at the inauguration of a road construction project.

Governor Wike said Nigerians have increased their yearnings for good governance, improved economy and developmental projects that PDP has continued to provide in the states that it controls.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Kano state, Alhaji Adamu Danzago, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will retain power beyond 2023 at the centre and in various states of the federation.
