Odion Ighalo makes stunning statement on if he will return to Super Eagles or not

Odion Ighalo has explained that he has been approached by the coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr over the possibility of him making a return to the national team.

But the former Manchester United star made it clear that he is still thinking about the situation and will soon come out with his position on the development.

The issues actually started after the Super Eagles crashed out of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia in which Odion Ighalo failed to impress at the tournament.

Ighalo however shined at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where he finished as the highest goalscorer for the Super Eagles who came third in the championship.

And after the 2019 African Cup of Nations, Odion Ighalo announced his retirement from the national team claiming that he made the decision due to personal reasons.

According to the report on BBC, Odion Ighalo explained that he is happy for the chance to have played for the Super Eagles stressing that he is still in touch with Gernot Rohr.

"I have been approached by the coach, but I haven't decided yet whether this is a path I want to follow again.
"We've been talking about it for a while and hopefully soon I will make that decision."

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how big Nigerian striker, Odion Ighalo, was spotted with his teammates at Al Shabab singing Davido's hit song 'Fall' following their League win over Damac on Monday, March 1.

In the encounter against the hosts, Odion Ighalo shined as the former Manchester United striker netted his first brace in the Saudi Arabian League which gave his team the maximum three points.

Ighalo had failed to find the net in his last two matches, however, he rediscovered his scoring form to lead Carlos Inarejos’ men past their relegation-threatened opponents.

And after the final whistle, Odion Ighalo and his teammates were in a joyous mood inside the team bus, singing Davido's song in loud voices.

As things stand presently, Odion Ighalo and his teammates at Al Shabab are still topping the Saudi Arabian League table with 44 points after 21 games played so far.
