Former Juventus defender Andrea Barzagli has branded Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo as the best finisher of all time, GOAL reports.

The ex-defender praised the courage of the striker as he further stated that Ronaldo possesses unbelievable hunger just for scoring goals.

Barzagli stressed that the former Real Madrid striker has raised the bar of personal excellence to a new height that only very few players have managed to reach.

Cristiano has won the prestigious Ballon d’Or five times and already mentioned among greats to have played the game, but Barzagli says he is the best finisher.

The Italian who spent eight years with Juve before retiring in 2019, has told the club’s official Twitch account:

“The striker who put me in most difficulty? Ronaldo always scored against us so it was always very difficult with him. Didier Drogba also, a force of nature.
“Ronaldo? He is the best finisher of all time. He scores goals for you in all different ways. His goals record says it all. His wickedness and his hunger are incredible things.”

Despite now being into his mid-30s, Ronaldo continues to maintain quite stunning standards.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has shifted his focus to Juventus' Champions League trip to FC Porto on Wednesday, February 17.

The first of their two-legged affair will determine how far they will go in their quest to win the UEFA elite competition since 1996.

Andrea Pirlo's men head into the game in Portugal on the back of their 1-0 Serie A defeat to Napoli over the weekend and they can bounce back to winning ways in their mid-week clash.

Ronaldo scored four goals in four UCL group games and he will have chances to add to the tally during these rounds of games.

However, Legit.ng earlier reported that former Chelsea and Liverpool forward Joe Cole has labelled Kylian Mbappe the world's best player after singlehandedly inspiring Paris Saint Germain to a 4-1 win over Barcelona at Camp Nou.

The Frenchman scored a hat-trick while Moise Kean also got on the scores sheet as Lionel Messi's goal from the spot ended up a mere consolation ahead of their second leg in France next month.

Cole, however, believes that Mbappe's performance in the game was that of the world's best adding that it supersedes that of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo combined.
