- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told four of his squad members they are no longer needed in Man United
- Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, and Jesse Lingard have reportedly been placed on the transfer window
- Man United have gone second on the Premier League table following their win over Aston Villa
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly tell four of his players that they are now surplus to requirement and are free to leave during the January transfer window.
According to The Athletic quoted by Sport Bible United are ready to listen to offers Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Sergio Romero, and Jesse Lingard.
The four stars have barely made an appearance for the Red Devils with Lingard playing two League Cup matches.
The Manchester club will also be looking to get the players off their wage book and invest in others who are likely to make Solskjaer's starting line up.
Argentine duo Romero and Rojo's contract will end in the summer and the one-year extension on Lingard's deal could possibly earn a bigger transfer fee for the Englishman.
Romero's summer move to Everton last summer did not materialize as United reportedly decided against strengthening their rivals.
United moved to second in the Premier League following their 2-1 win over Aston Villa and they needed none of the services of the four players.
Goals from Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes' spot-kick made the difference for United in the match.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Man United went level on points with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table following their 2-1 over Aston Villa at Old Trafford.
Adama Traore canceled out Anthony Martial's goal as Bruno Fernandes scored the match-winner from the penalty spot.
Martinez made his first save of the match from Martial's shot in the 11th minute as the Argentine was equal to the task from the Frenchman's shot.
Villa's first notable attack of the game came as McGinn side-footed a volley which was saved by David De Gea.
