In what could be described as his night, Cristiano Ronaldo carried the entire Juventus side on his shoulders getting two amazing goals to win it 2-0 for the Old Lady.

The hosts had the ball in the net as early as the 11th minute but it was correctly ruled out for a Morata offside as he was involved in the buildup before Bernardeschi latched home.

And in the 18thn minute, Morata and Ronaldo combined with a one-two to try and set the latter free into the area, but Rog made a good, strong challenge on the Portuguese right on the edge of the box.

It was a rare lapse in concentration from Ronaldo in the 21st minute when he got possession in midfield and looked to turn away into space, but left the ball behind and Rog came over to clear the danger.

And it was Ronaldo who opened the scoring for Juventus in the 38th minute with a cracking finish! The multiple Ballon d'Or winner completed a touch to set himself on his right foot and rifled a powerful shot inside the far post. 1-0 Juventus.

And just about four minutes later, it was 2-0 courtesy the same man Ronaldo with his second.

Cuadrado's corner from the right is flicked on by Demiral towards an unmarked Ronaldo at the far post, it looked to be behind him but Ronaldo slowed his momentum well, hanging his foot back and hooking the ball into the empty net.

The second half then saw a more organised Cagliari as they did well to contain the Juventus side in the midfield.

In the 53rd minute Demiral met Cuadrado's corner with a booming header but he put it onto the woodwork to deny the hosts the third goal.

Juve fought so hard to complement on their two-goal lead in the first half, but it looked like Ronaldo's brace were enough to Andrea Pirlo's side to seal all three points. It ended; Juventus 2-0 Cagliari.

Juventus move to second position on the Serie A standings with 16 points from 8 matches, one point behind leaders AC Milan who have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported, Tottenham Hotspur moved top of the Premier League as Jose Mourinho inflicted a painful defeat to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Goals from Heung Min Son and Giovani Lo Celso in either half of the game were enough to ensure Guardiola endured the worst start to a Premier League campaign in his managerial career.
