Firefighters responded to reports of smoke at the house of veteran Hollywood actor Denzel Washington on Wednesday night, November 11.

The fire crews have shared that there were no flames visible when they got to the Beverly Crest mansion of the popular actor. It is also unclear whether the Safe House actor was at his home at the time of the alleged fire.

According to news reports, everyone inside the house got out safely. Authorities shared that smoke could be seen coming from the second floor of the multi-level home in the first block of Beverly Park Circle.

The smoke on the second floor was determined to be from one of several furnaces in the home that was recently serviced and was taken offline, according to authorities.

CBS Los Angeles reports that the Los Angeles Fire Department expressed that despite a thorough search of the 28,887-square-foot mansion with thermal imaging cameras, there was no active fire discovered. All fire crews — both Los Angeles and Beverly Hills fire departments — then left the scene.
