Arsenal on Saturday night, September 5, suffered a 3-2 defeat against Aston Villa in a friendly match played behind closed doors at the Emirates stadium.

Gabonese striker Aubameyang once again proved that he is capable to lead Arsenal's attack by scoring a brace even though his two goals did not save the Gunners from defeat.

Gunners' chiefs are said to have offered Aubameyang another three-year deal for him to continue his career at the North London side following his impressive performances last term.

Aubameyang made all Arsenal fans happy last month when his brace helped the Gunners beat Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup which gave Arteta and his wards Europa League ticket.

German footballer Mesut Ozil played for Arsenal against Aston Villa. Brazilian star Willian who joined from Chelsea also made his debut for the Gunners.

Aubameyang cancelled out a Villa opener from Brazil midfielder Douglas Luiz before the break.

But England Under-19s star Jacob Ramsey struck twice in the second half to sink the Gunners, either side of Aubameyang tucking home a penalty.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will want to put the defeat against Aston Villa behind them and focus on their coming Premier League game against Fulham.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Premier League giants Arsenal announced that they have resigned Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the 2020/21 League season.

The 24-year-old actually got to the Emirates stadium last season and was impressive for the Gunners in all their campaign.

Mikel Arteta and his chiefs will not have a clause to make the 24-year-old's stay a permanent one at the end of the season.
