Bola Tinubu, national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed insinuations that there is a rift between him and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state.
Speaking on Saturday, September 5, with the Ondo traditional rulers, Tinubu said the state needs the governor to continue his good job so that the people could enjoy more dividends of democracy.
“Don’t listen to them. Some people can go to any length to lie against other people. We are not fighting, Odua people need to be united.

“Our monarchs, your support is needed, though you have assured us that you have agreed to ensure Akeredolu comes back for second term,” he said.
The governorship election in Ondo has been scheduled for October 10 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Governor Rotimi Akeredoulu, who is seeking reelection on the platform of the ruling party, will face his deputy governor, Agboola Alfred Ajayi, Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) and a host of other party candidates.
Tinubu said there is no love lost between him and Akeredolu, though both politicians were not always seeing eye to eye, with the matter getting to a head in 2016 when the Ondo governor was elected without the support of APC national leader
The duo reportedly reconciled in Abuja last year, suggesting that the right is over.
Earlier, it was reported that Tinubu stated that oppositions will not be given any chance during the forthcoming Ondo guber election.
The former Lagos state governor also added that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is dead in the state and further declared that the party will be finally nailed in a coffin during the election.
Speaking during the take-off of the campaign rally in Akure on Saturday, Tinubu called for unity among aggrieved party members in the state.
