According to reports from The Nation, Mompha was recaptured on Friday, August 14, after he went to the EFCC office in Ikoyi to collect some of his properties that were seized.

The Nation reports that he went to reclaim his five wristwatches, one Apple Air pod, an iPhone 8 mobile phone and a pair of sunglasses that was seized from him by the EFCC.

It was gathered that following an application from Mompha’s lawyer, Gboyega Oyewole (SAN), Justice Mohammed Liman ordered that the social media celeb’s properties be returned to him.

The judge had reportedly ruled that since the seized items were not exhibits in Mompha’s money laundering charges, the EFCC had no reason to hold on to them.

“Failure to release the property is illegal. As of today (July 24), no charge has been file regarding the items. It is too long to withhold the applicant properties,” the judge said.
