According to reports from The Nation, Mompha was recaptured on Friday, August 14, after he went to the EFCC office in Ikoyi to collect some of his properties that were seized.

The Nation reports that he went to reclaim his five wristwatches, one Apple Air pod, an iPhone 8 mobile phone and a pair of sunglasses that was seized from him by the EFCC.

It was gathered that following an application from Mompha’s lawyer, Gboyega Oyewole (SAN), Justice Mohammed Liman ordered that the social media celeb’s properties be returned to him.

The judge had reportedly ruled that since the seized items were not exhibits in Mompha’s money laundering charges, the EFCC had no reason to hold on to them.

“Failure to release the property is illegal. As of today (July 24), no charge has been file regarding the items. It is too long to withhold the applicant properties,” the judge said.

However, it was reported that Mompha had barely left the EFCC premises when he was waylaid and taken into custody.

In other EFCC related news, Legit.ng reported that 20-year-old social media influencer, Adeherself, was overjoyed to get a visit from Mompha after she was released from jail.

In the video, an excited Adeherself is seen hugging the Bureau de Change operator after he paid her a visit at her home where she resides with her family.

Recall Adeherself was arrested by the anti-crime Commission alongside five others on June 16, 2020, for their alleged involvement in cyber fraud.

She later met bail conditions and was released as she made an appearance on her mother's Instagram page.
