Victor Osimhen: Lille line up Olympic bronze medalist Umar Sadiq as replacement

- Victor Osimhen will reportedly be replaced by another Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq

- The 23-year-old has been in fine form for Serbian side Partizan Belgrade, scoring 17 goals and providing 16 assists

- Sadiq had previously had spells with Serie A clubs including Roma, Bologna Torino, and Scottish side Rangers

Umar Sadiq has been lined-up by Ligue 1 side Lille as a replacement for fellow departing Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen is bound for Lille's exit in the summer following his remarkable performances and the club's coach Christophe Gatlier has made the confirmation.

“Regarding Victor and Gabriel, yes, I have known for a long time that they are leaving,” the French tactician said at a press conference that took place on Friday.

And according to Italian news media website Calciomercato, Partizan Belgrade striker Umar has been linked with the French club.

The Nigerian international scored 17 goals and provided 16 assists in 38 appearances for the Serbian outfit in the past season.

Serie A giants AC Milan, La Liga side Valencia and Russian clubs CSKA and Spartak Moscow have all been linked to the former U-23 international.

Sadiq had spells with Roma before he was loaned out to Rangers but frequent clashes with Steven Gerrard ended his campaign with the Scottish side.

The 23-year-old also moved to Serie A clubs Bologna, Torino, NAC Breda, Gers, Perugia and Partizan before getting his rhythm before signing a deal with the Belgrade club which would end in 2022.

He represented Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics and won bronze with the team led by Samson Siasia.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Oghenekaro Etebo scored his first goal for his new club Getafe as they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Eibar.

The super Eagles midfielder made a January move from Championship side Stoke City after a frustrating spell under Michael O'Neil.

But the 24-year-old was the quickest to react to a cross from Angel Rodriguez as he put his side ahead on the half-hour mark.

Right on the stroke of half time, Eibar equalized form a Charles header after receiving a headed assist from Sergi Enrich.
