The APC Screening Committee for Edo State Governorship Aspirant has disqualified Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo state from participating in the June 22 primaries. This was the verdict of the committee on Friday, June 12, after a screening session at the APC Secretariat during a press briefing by the party. The party cleared some other aspirants ahead of the primaries, as agreed at the screening exercise.

2. Gaidom announces self as APC Chairman, cancels Edo guber screening

Victor Giadom has taken over as the national chairman of the APC following the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole. He made this known to the press while addressing journalists at the APC Secretariat in Abuja. He further stated that the screening by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party which disqualified Godwin Obaseki has been cancelled and a new one will be conducted soon.
