Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has signed a new deal to remain at the Allianz Arena until the summer of 2023.

The 34-year-old FIFA World Cup winner joined the Bavarians in 2011 in a deal valued around €30 million and has grown through the ranks at the club.

He has gone ahead to win seven Bundesliga titles, one Champions League among several other silverware. He could also win his eighth league title at the end of this season.

Neuer was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard wanted to sign him for Chelsea this summer.

The German star told Bundesliga website after signing the contract extension: "During the weeks of the shutdown for the coronavirus pandemic, I didn't want to make a decision because nobody knew if, when and how Bundesliga football would continue,”
