COVID-19: 2baba shouldn't have given N10m to the federal government - Nigerian man (video)

- A Nigerian man has faulted singer 2baba for donating N10m to the federal government to battle the COVID-19 pandemic

- The individual in a chat with Legit TV said the singer should have partnered with agencies or banks if he really wanted vulnerable Nigerians to benefit from it

- The man also charged other celebrities to learn from the 2baba incident when they want to consider distributing palliatives

Over the past few weeks, it has become evident that it is important for capable and well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with the federal government in other to efficiently fight the war against the coronavirus pandemic.

While the FG is doing all in its capacity to keep things in order, issues like hunger have posed a huge threat to Nigerians who have been forced to stay in their homes following the coronavirus induced lockdown.

In light of this, some celebrities and public figures have taken it upon themselves to make huge donations to the government or organize relief programs to help people feed well amidst the pandemic.

One such celebrity is popular Nigerian singer 2baba Idibia. The singer recently donated the sum of N10m to support initiatives aimed at combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, it appears the singer’s action is not well received by some Nigerians. Legit TV recently had a chat with a Nigerian man who faulted 2baba for his donation.

According to the individual, the singer should have partnered with food agencies or banks in the country, if he really wanted the funds to be accessible by vulnerable Nigerians.

The man noted that since the Iheneme crooner made the donation, nothing has been heard of how it was spent.

He went on to charge other celebrities in the country not to follow the steps of 2baba. According to him, if they feel the need to aid the present situation, they should seek means of partnering with agencies that can effectively distribute funds to people who are in dire need.
