Breaking: Naira Marley surrenders himself to police

Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has surrendered himself to the police, Tribune reports.

The singer reportedly went to the police at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, Lagos State after he was told to surrender himself for disobeying the public gathering rules.

Naira Marley was one of the celebrities who attended actress Funke Akindele's party for her husband's birthday. Videos from the birthday party were shared online which got many people outraged by the celebrities' disobedience.

This resulted in the arrest of the actress and the musician was also told to turn himself in for flouting the social distancing order at the party.

Tribune Online reported that the hip hop artiste arrived Panti on Monday afternoon and is being questioned by the police.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerians continued to blast Naira Marley for not believing in the existence of COVID-19. Nigerian rapper, Naira Marley, took to Twitter to tell fans to retweet his post if they do not believe in coronavirus, thereby making people feel relaxed and not see it as a dangerous threat. The rapper’s post gained thousands of retweets from people who do not believe in the existence of the virus and this has led to other Nigerians blasting him on the microblogging site. Some Nigerians called him out for his post.

Naira Marley also dropped an important word of advice for 'Marlians'. The Tesumole crooner made it clear that as a Marlian, it was important to have all the fun one can think of during the youthful days. However, Naira Marley cautioned that the enjoyment should not be at the expense of one’s future. He urged people not to destroy their future.
