Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has expressed happiness following Odion Ighalo's move to Premier League giants Manchester United where he will be until the end of the season.

Manchester United's problems in front of goals this season in all competitions forced the club's chiefs to enter the transfer market where they signed Odion Ighalo on loan.

The 30-year-old Nigerian striker played for two seasons at Watford before he left the English topflight for a move to China.

Gernot Rohr has now explained that it will be hard for him to overlook a striker who is playing for Manchester United in the Premier League.

He added that he believes Odion Ighalo can be a source of motivation for his players in their coming games.

Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo now becomes first Nigerian superstar who will play for Manchester United in the Premier League.

He retired from international football after the 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt where he helped Nigeria to win bronze and also finished as top scorer.
