Governor Yahaya Bello has condoled with the family of Late Barrister Taiwo Kola Ojo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s chairman in Kogi West senatorial district, who slumped and died while playing lawn tennis on Tuesday, January 7.

The governor in a statement sent to journalists by his chief press secretary, Onogwu Muhammed on Wednesday, January 8, described the death of Ojo as 'touching.'

“It is with heavy hearts but total submission to the will of God that I, on behalf of the government and people of Kogi state received the sad demise of one of us, Barrister Taiwo Kola Ojo.

“The death is nearer home in the state political circle and as one of our own, being the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kogi West, the death is more touching, especially the fact that he was actively involved in the recent political activities in the state,’’ the governor stated.

Legit.ng previously reported that Saibu Adeosun, a nominee of the governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, died some moments before his screening and possible confirmation.

Adeosun was nominated by the governor for the position of chairman of the caretaker committee of Ipokia local government area and was to be screened by the state's House of Assembly but died some moments before his screening and possible confirmation.

In a related development, a ward chairman of the PDP in Delta state, Paul Onomuakpokpo, have been killed by some suspected assassins.
