Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have reported joined Chelsea in the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner before the January transfer window closes.
The 23-year-old Germany international has been superb this season in the Bundesliga scoring 18 goals already this term.
His rich vein of form has attracted some big clubs in Europe for the past 12 months before Real Madrid joined the race to sign Timo.
Although, France international Karim Benzema recently signed a new deal at Real Madrid, but Los Blancos are looking for a long term replacement for the Frenchman.
Chelsea on the other hand recently had their transfer ban lifted which gives the Blues the chance to bring in fresh legs to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have also been linked with a move for Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain, with the Uruguayan set to leave the French side.
Tammy Abraham is currently leading the attack for Chelsea this season, but the Blues want another sharp attacker who can help their front line together with Giroud.
They are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League standings with 36 points after 21 games played so far.
