Rapper-turned-gospel-preacher, Kanye West, is defending US rapper T.I over his daughter's chastity check comment he made earlier.

Legit.ng reported that T.I publicly claimed that he took his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris, to the gynaecologist to check her hymen so as to confirm if it is still intact.

Speaking at the one-year anniversary of his Sunday services at Union Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter that offers food and spiritual guidance to those in need, Kanye West commented on T.I's and daughter's chastity checks brouhaha.

In a video from the event, Kanye said: “I ain’t tellin nobody what to do, I’m expressin’ what I’ve been through. ‘Cause you know people love to take a soundbite and say, ‘This was not exactly devil-approved by the internet. They tryna play T.I., but he’s talkin about somethin that’s God-approved.”

Kanye's statement was greeted by silence from the audience.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that T.I defended his decision of taking daughter Deyjah for annual chastity tests.

During an episode on the Red Table Talk, in the company of his wife Tiny Harris, T.I defended himself from the backlash he received due to his revelation.

"My intentions have been terribly misinterpreted. All of this false narrative has just been sensationalised," he said while speaking to Jada Pinkett Smith.

Responding to Jada's question on if he understood the sensitivity of the matter then, T.I said he did not understand it, but understands it now.
