Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said his counterpart in Bayelsa, Seriake Dickson should resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for allegedly betraying and selling out the party.
The Rivers state governor speaking during an interview on Tuesday, December 24, accused Dickson of working for working against him during the 2019 election in Rivers state.
He said that the right thing for the Bayelsa state governor to do is to resign from the PDP, so that PDP leaders in Bayelsa can rebuild the party.
The Rivers state governor accused Dickson of killing the Bayelsa state chapter of the PDP.
Wike also dismissed the idea of holding a reconciliatory meeting with the Bayelsa state governor over the Soku Oil Wells/fields returned to Rivers State by the Federal High Court.
He said anybody who is not satisfied with the court ruling should go on Appeal.
“I am not going to sit down with anybody to discuss anything as it relates to Governor Dickson. I have no business with Governor Dickson,” Wike said.
“The party would have waded in when they saw fraud. That Dickson was killing the party in Bayelsa State. He has achieved his aim by making sure nobody comes after him as he leaves office in February 2020.
“Do you know the effect of APC winning Bayelsa State? And they are talking of wading in."
In another news report, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has told the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, to stop belittling and intimidating Bayelsa state.
Dickson on Sunday, December 22, accused WIke of treating Bayelsa as an annex of Rivers state. The Bayelsa state governor said he was issuing the statement following childishness comments from Wike.
The Bayelsa state governor made the statement when reacting to Wike’s comments about his (Dickson) visit to a traditional leader in Rivers, the Amanyanabo of Kalabari kingdom, Theophilus Princewill.
