Many are going through different life struggles. This is why any act of human kindness always goes a long way.

The story of Jessica Pearce reflects the lives of many who ensure people get the basic help they need. Jessica noticed so many homeless people when she stayed at a hotel in Flinders Street in Melbourne.

That experience shocked her that she started thinking of ways to fix the situation. The good Samaritan and her partner spent nights after that giving out cash to homeless people in the area.

Jessica said that one of the people they met during their charity tour was a man who could not get access to his children because he had no shelter.

“He had a two and a three-year-old who was staying with his ex-partner and he wasn’t going to have access to them because he didn’t have somewhere to live. I wanted him to have stable accommodation for the children,” she said.

After paying up her mortgage, she bought four more houses and gave them all to those without roofs on their heads.

The houses would cater to those who want to stay short term because they are temporarily homeless or those, especially big families, who are staying long-term.

She is not stopping at just getting those new houses, Jessica is also looking forward to partnering with homeowners and government organisations who could help her mission.

Jessica experienced homelessness when she and her mother were thrown out by her stepfather.
