Former Chelsea star, Loic Remy, has hailed Nigerian sensation Victor Osimhen following the striker's impressive goal-scoring run for Lille.

Osimhen sealed a transfer move to the French giants in the last summer from Belgian top side Jupiler League side RSC Mouscron for a fee worth of €15 million.

The 20-year-old has since moved on to become a popular figure in Christophe Galtier's squad scoring seven goals and recording two assists in thirteen appearances.

Loic Remy has now seen reason to praise the youngster who he described as a "big recovery."

The Frenchman, who shared the locker room with Mikel Obi and Victor Moses at Chelsea, relished the joy of playing with the Nigerian star.

“I think Victor was a big discovery for everyone and it once again underlined the wise recruitment choices of the club, who were very shrewd in the choice that they made,” Remy told the club’s website.

“I think that Victor is a player with a big future. I’m at the stage now where I can identify players who have potential and who are serious and diligent in all that they do and he strikes me as that type of player.

“He trains with intensity. He’s a real goalscorer who works on a personal level even after team sessions, whether it be weight lifting or whether taking the time to just look after himself.

The 32-year-old joined Chelsea in 2014 and left in 2017 after a torrid spell. Remy scored eight goals in 32 appearances for the London side.
