Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has grown to become one of the most respected footballers in the world at the moment.
Having won five Ballon d'Or awards among several other individual and collective silverware in his career.
The Argentine has however revealed that he once asked current Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane for his shirt earlier in his career in Barcelona.
According to the Mirror quoting TyC Sports, Messi asked the 1998 World Cup-winning midfielder for his jersey when both clashed in the El Clasico earlier in his career.

The forward admitted that it was not in his nature to ask players for their jerseys but insisted he had to ask Zidane for his.
"I don't ask for shirts, I usually swap them, but I asked Zidane once," Messi said. "If there is an Argentine I swap it with him, but, unless someone asks me, I'm not asking anyone."
Zidane spent about six seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu and won six titles in the process - including one Champions League and one Super Cup.
The Frenchman later became Los Blancos manager and won them three straight UCL titles in his first stint in charge of the club.
Meanwhile, Barcelona president, Josep Bartomeu claims Messi will remain at the club for at least the next five years after it was revealed he has a clause that will allow leave at the end of this term.
Bartomeu said: "Ultimately it is he who must decide. He has earned the right to decide when he will stop playing football. But like he said a few weeks ago, he wants to finish his playing career at Barcelona.
“Over the next two or three seasons our leader will continue to be Leo Messi. There’s no doubt that he is still young, still strong. He is still ambitious.
“So Leo Messi will still play with us for the next two, three, four or five years. I have no doubts about that.”
Barcelona are the current table-toppers in the Spanish League with 25 points - same as bitter rivals Real Madrid after 12 matches.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Spanish League clash between Barcelona and arch-rivals Real Madrid has been rescheduled to hold on Wednesday, December 18.
The two most powerful football club were originally meant to faceoff in the first leg of the 2019-20 El Clasico on October 26.
But the epic fixture was postponed owing to the heavy protest in the city of Catalunya after the government decided to jail nine top profile members of the Catalan independence movement.
