American singer Miley Cyrus and Australian actor husband Liam Hemsworth have called it quits under a year after getting married. The couple, who dated on and off, tied the knot in 2018.
Cyrus and Hemsworth met 10 years ago on the set of Nicholas Sparks' drama The Last Song. They dated on and off for a while, and finally broke up in 2013, then got back together in 2015 and later married in 2018.
In a statement released and sent to CBS, the pair revealed that they agreed to separate for their best interest. The couple separated eight months after tying the knot.

The statement said: "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."
